how do i tell you

that the shimmer of a pearl

has been my favorite lately.

and by lately, i mean

a while.  

and did you know that pearls are made when an

oyster

is damaged?

i read it somewhere once that the only way sediment

can get in is

through the damaged

gentle 

parts.

that, and pressure.

you say over and

over 

that you do not want to hurt me.

but maybe i am well versed in this

and i am making pearls for jewelry to adorn myself

with 

from all of

the sediments

of hurt i let in.
